more about Tony Guida...

After graduating from Pennsylvania State University in 1993, I started working for Hyatt Hotels. Over the ensuing 20 years I had the opportunity to live in Beaver Creek, Colorado, Maui, Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Sacramento, California and eventually landed in the Washington, DC area.

Fitness and sports had always been an integral part of my life, and during my travels I competitively paddled outrigger canoes, ran numerous races of all distances, from 5K to 26.2 miles, and eventually discovered and fell in love with triathlon: the "whole- body" aspect, coupled with the mental and philosophical component was, for me, the perfect athletic endeavor. Between July 2000 and now, I've completed over 80 races ranging from the shorter sprint distance to becoming a 4X Ironman.

After becoming a father in 2013, I took a break from the corporate world and trained as an amateur triathlete and marathoner, qualifying for, and completing, the Ironman 70.3 World Championship and Boston Marathon.

In 2017, I returned to full-time work, but pivoted into the fitness industry having realized that it was more aligned with my personal interests. Working for LA Fitness and Life Time Fitness provided initial industry experience but when the 2020 Pandemic occurred, the world shutdown created an ideal opportunity to pursue my greatest passion... personal training and one-on-one fitness coaching. I transitioned from the endurance training required for triathlon into Functional Fitness, which supports our whole health objectively as we're aging. Not only was I excited about this change for myself, but I wanted to share my enthusiasm with others. I became a NCCPT Personal Trainer and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and created Tony Guida Fitness.

My training philosophy focuses on strength and conditioning. The programs are designed to help everyone do movements that mimic everyday actions incorporating multiple muscle groups at the same time. This builds core strength, flexibility, mobility and stability across the body. I have discovered that this approach drastically improves the body's shape, tone, endurance and physical abilities in the most efficient manner possible.

I am honored to share my personal experiences, knowledge attained through my training certifications, and love of fitness to help others who share my vision and want to be the very best version of themselves.
